Remote Desktop Logon

J

Jeff

I am having this problem when trying to log on to my
WinXP Pro machine using Remote Desktop. Both machines are
on the same private network and both are XP Pro

If the host machine is in suspend mode and I wake it
using WOL the system wakes but when starting the Remote-
Desktop session I get the log-on window and after putting
in the username and password and clicking OK my screen
flashes and goes back to the client desktop and won't log
in to the remote machine. If the remote machine is awake
I can start a remote desktop session just fine. It only
occurs when the host machine is in suspend and I need to
use WOL to wake it up.

Anyone have any Ideas on how to wake the video card as
well as the PC.
Thanks
Jeff

I don't do WOL personally, so the best I can say is to look at this old thread with suggestions from
Bill Sanderson, MS-MVP, that may help...

http://groups.google.com/[email protected]#link1

Otherwise, look through this Google search result for possible help...

http://groups.google.com/groups?q=WOL+group:*.work_remotely&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&scoring=d

Good luck...
