After successfully connecting to remote system with RD
over an ad-hoc wireless connection, I immediately lose
the wireless network connection when the remote system
closes its GUI.

Am I alone? What to do?

Which machine loses the wireless connection? The machine you are working
on, or the machine that you RD'ing to?

In any case, I would say eliminate RD from the equation and make sure your
wireless network is not dropping connection without that.

.
I am assuming that once the GUI locks on the host
system, that it is terminating any network connectivity.
Otherwise, the wireless networking on both the remote and
host are without issue!

What next?

Check the security settings on the wireless connection--make sure 802.1x
isn't checked (enabled.)
