Hi Everyone,

I have Yahoo SBC DSL which is a PPPoE connection. I have no-ip.com client
software on there to track the WAN ip address since it is dynamic so when I
can use that DNS name as the computer when using the remote desktop. The
firewall is turned off so that cannot block port 1729. I still cannot log on
using remote desktop. The TCP IP for the NIC card has a static ip address
which I assign to. The computer is directly connected to DSL modem.

Firstly, can you ping the machine you;re trying to connect to?

You need to forward or unblock TCP Port 3389... 1729 is for a
PPTP-based VPN...

Nah - that's 1723. 1729 can be something like citynl license management,
but it might also be a typo.
