Remote Desktop connection

I had a desktop with Xp on it and could connect to my work computer using the
remote desktop connection. I recently brought a Compaq laptop with Vista on
it. Now when I use the remote desktop connection I get the following error
"the remote computer disconnected the session because of an error in the
licensing protocol.

any suggestions on how I can fix this problem?

Hi,

What version of Vista is installed on the laptop, and is it the work machine
being accessed? Or is it the home machine that is accessing the machine at
work?

I have Windows Vista Home Basics. I am trying to access the work machine. It
