Remote Desktop Connection Question

On the MS page for Getting Started using Remote Desktop Connection, it says,
"The Remote Desktop window opens, and you see the desktop settings, files, and programs
that are on your host computer, which in this example is your work computer. Your host
computer remains locked, and nobody can access it without a password. In addition, no
one will be able to see the work you are doing remotely."

2 Questions:

1. How / Can you tell RDC not to lock the Host Computer?
2. How / Can you allow the Host computer to be seen while it is being used remotely?

We use RDC for a client (their choice) and it makes working with their computers a pain.
The users cannot see how we fix things, and we always have to give them a login and password
when we are done because it locks their desktop. Can these 2 options be turned off?

You don't need to give them a login or a password - simply log off
your Remote Desktop session by pressing Ctrl+Alt+End.

Use Remote Assistance or a third party product such as WinVNC
to keep the desktop visible.
