Remote Desktop Client Printing - Server Queue Hangs

Hi

My scenario is host: win server 2003 sp2, client: win XP, printer:
Dell Photo Printer 720.

After installing the drivers for this printer on the server, the
server is correctly creating a new printer called 'Dell Photo Printer
720 (from OFFICEDELL) in Session 1' or similar. On examination this
is connected to a TSnn port. However on printing, the queue on the
server stalls (and refuses to allow the document to be deleted) and
nothing happens on the client. The client printer port is USB001.

I've tried everything I can find in the newsgroups which includes:

- MS kb article registry mod for mapping ports FilterQueueType
- Adding LPT1 port to properties of client printer (so both LPT1 and
USB001 are set) and setting printer pooling on
- Turning off spooling on client printer (set print directly to
printer) and making default mode RAW
- Turning on sharing for the printer
- Moving other printer drivers on the client off LPT1 and onto other
LPT ports
- Giving all users Write permissions on the spool directory on the
server

Any help would be very gratefully received just spent half a day
banging my head on this one.

James
