Remote desktop blocked by DEP

@ndyB

Hi there,

I've recently installed Vista Ultimate (final version), from the MSDN
subscription site.

On a whole I'm quite impressed with it, few driver issues and a few other
niggles one of which is that it won't let me run Remote desktop.

Keep getting the message that it's been blocked by DEP (Data execution
prevention) yet it won't allow me to turn off DEP for this particular
program. Bit of a catch 22.

Getting a similar problem with Windows Mail when I try to go into an
accounts properties.

Is this a bug or is there a way round it?

Thanks,

Andy.

New to this sorry about the previous post.

I am haveing the same problem on an XPP SP2 machine since the latest RDC
update (KB925876) has been installed. Have reinstalled the update and
changed to DEP to turn on for all progs except RDC but still get the same
problem. I do not get it on any other machines we have so far. If anyone
has any ideas i am all ears. :)

Thanks GaryG
