- Exact error you are receiving?
- Version of Windows?
- Service Pack Level?
- Windows Firewall appropriately configured (if using the Windows Firewall -
other firewalls would also need to be configured properly.)
- Model/Name Brand of router?
- Methodology used to test the setup?
- Remote user does have permissions to use Remote Desktop and has a password
assigned?

Port forward BOTH TCP and UDP protocols port 3389 to the remote desktop PC
IP address.

Assign a password the "Administrator" on Remote Desktop host PC.

Enabel Windows firewall exception for Remote Desktop

For Remote Desktop hosting, XP Pro "seems" to be the only version that will
allow Remote session to connect to it. It does not seem to be available on
XP Home.

what error? also what port? TCP 3389... also make sure target machine does
not have local firewall such as Mcafee, Symantec or Windows firewalls..
