You have a couple of options. You can either use copy/paste between the two
windows or you if you choose to bring the local drives over on connection,
you will see the drives in My Computer and then copy/paste that way.
If you could provide a little more information on what you are trying to do,

A program called VNC can do remote desktop and file transfer and runs very
effectively, i find it actually works better then Remote Assistance, and
works as well as Remote Desktop.
When you open the Remote Desktop connection client, click the Options button, then the Local Resources tab. Choose Disk Drives. This makes the drives on the "client" available to the "host" machine.
