Remote Assistance

Is remote assistance possible across two different operating systems? I have
a WIN XP Home, while a friend has VISTA Home. My friend wants me to assist
him (request for assistance from Vista).
Any suggestion is appreciated.

hi, yes it should work. i have done it with various operating systems ( not
vista though) using msn messenger which is pretty good. It wont do any harm
trying it but if you get any problems please leave feedback, it will be
interesting to know. Matt320

Hello,

It should work. If it doesn't, try using Crossloop - www.crossloop.com (it
is free).

YOU SHOULD BE OK BUT ENABLE THE PORT 3389 IN THE WINDOWS FIREWALL OR LOOK
UNDER THE EXCEPTIONS TAB AND MAKE SURE YOU TICK THE BOX FOR REMOTE
ASSISTANCE. ALSO CHECK YOUR ANTIVIRUS FIREWALLS.IF YOU ARE RUNNING WINDIWS
LIVE CARE LOOK IN THE FIREWALL SETTING THERE.
APOLOGIES FOR CAPS LOCK.

Chris,
thanks for your help . I appreciate it. However, I downloaded CrossLoop and
found it to be simple and easy. Will use your suggestions next time I use
Win XP Remote Assistance App.

P.S. No problem with the capitals...
