I am trying to access another copmputer on my home LAN. When I enter it's IP
address, I get access denied. I have activated the remote access under
system, but there are no tabs for users or password. I want to be able to get
to this computer W/O using an invite. I also do not want to logoff the
current user like Remote Desktop does.

Look at this page for help with this issue... The "Novice" still needs to give you, the "Expert",
permission to both view and control their desktop.

You can't use Remote Assistance "Offer" functionality in a workgroup environment...

An alternative may be VNC. I use TightVNC to access/control my wife's XP Home machine, for remote
administration, from my XP Pro machine over my local LAN...
