Remote Assistance

Would anyone have a possible resolution for this message that I am receiving
when attempting to connect to a friends computer?

Remote Assistance connection could not be established because the remote
host name could not be resolved. Please try again.

Both computers are Windows XP Home Edtion.

Both computers are Windows XP Home Edtion.

The Remote Host is behind a NAT router and you are trying to connect to the
private, not public IP. Also - if you have changed the file to reflect the
public IP, then they have not forwarded the port (3389) through their NAT
device to their private IP system.

That simple and answered before.

Have you read my question? The advice from the other group only explains
the basic operation of Remote Assistance and how to either run it with
Outlook Express or Windows Messenger, both of wich I know how to use to run
RA. There is no definative explaination of my question.

Did you go to and read from the links given in the answers elsewhere? Or
how about the answer (direct) given here?
