Hi guys,

Is there anyway to set a password for the remote
assistance in windows xp home edition so that windows
prompts the user to enter the password to be able to use
the remote assistance?

thanks

No, but you can prevent them from using it. Click Start, Run and enter
REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services

Right click in a blank area of the right pane and select New, DWord value,
and name the new value fAllowToGetHelp

Leave the value you just created at 0. If it already exists, double click
fAllowToGetHelp and set it to 0.

thanks but I guess in this case I won't be able to use it
too. what I can do incase I need to use?

cheers

Thanks very much for your help.

Best wishes
