Remote Assistance - Mcafee Virus Scan

A

Ady

Whilst trying to get remote assistance working on my friends PC we
encountered a problem. When trying to run this the Mcafee Virus Scan shows
a large warning indicating that the file "helpctr.exe" is a script that
executes a group of commands without user intervention.

Is this a virus or is Mcafee getting it slightly wrong?

Any help or advice on this will be most appreciated!

Thanks

Ady,

I have McAfee and get the same message. McAfee is
running script stopper as part of the Virus Scanner so
when a script runs it is interrogated by McAfee for
operations that McAfee deem harmful. Scan your machine,
if you have a virus then the scanner should find it, else
you are fine to allow the script to run. You can add
this script to the script stopper to that it ignores it
and ceases with the messages.
