Remote access

New&Confused

Our office recently converted our server from Novell to
Win2003. We are running Win2k on the workstations. I
have been placed in charge of setting up our partners to
access their office computers from home. They have XP at
home and I've downloaded the remote desktop client to use
on the office computers; however I'm new to this whole
concept and can't get the connection to work from home.
Does anyone have a reference site or an easy "How to"
lesson on how to go about making this work? Our hardware
vendor says it is not possible with Win2k. Is this true?
Thanks.

Yes, your hardware vendor is correct. Remote Desktop is a feature
that was introduced in Windows XP. You can install the client on the
W2K workstations, but that will only allow you to connect to a XP
workstation from a W2K workstation. Not the other way around.
Only possibility to do this is pcAnywhere, VNC or NetMeeting.
