Remote access win2000 -> winXP

Hi to everybody,
Was wandering to ask if there is a way to access and
remotely control win xp machine without using third party
tools like "pc anywhere" and alike.
What I wanna accomplish is just to help my mother to take
care of her machine - we live in different towns and both
have cable internet access.
The OS I am using most of the time - win2000.

Yes. Download the Remote Desktop Client here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/rdclientdl.asp

The client will install in your Win2k Accessories/Communications menu. Have
your mother enable RDP on her XP machine - you will need to know her IP
address.
