Remote access connection manager service wont start

K

khan

I have upgraded from windows XP home edition to windows XP
pro.
After the installation the dial up networking options are
not highlighted. Further investigaion reveals that the
service remote access connection manager is not started.
When I tried to start it, it says that "could not start
the remote access connection manager service on local
computer. Error 5: Access denied".
I change the logon of the service from local computer to
local administrator account and tried to start it and then
it gives me an error message "could not start the remote
access connection manager service on local computer. Error
1079: The account specified for this service is different
from the account specified for other services running in
the same process".
I changed the account and passwords in all other dependent
services but even then it shows me one message or the
other.
Please advise what to do now.
Thanks.
