Remote Access and Error 20082

Have Win2K Server (sp4) accepting Incoming Connections for two users.
Incoming VPN has been running fine for over a year..then stopped. Server
event logs show error in Remote Access id #20082. When server re-boots
Event log records: "The Remote Access Server could not reset lana 0 (the
error code is the data) and will not be active on it" Source: Remote Access.
Users see message stating that their credentials were incorrect.

Eventid.net posts (from newsgroups) suggest: Disable NetBEUI on the external
adapter, disable NetBIOS over TCP/IP on the external adapter, and disable
NetBEUI on the RAS/VPN interface/connection.

Tried, but did not reslove the issue.

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

having the same problem. Also Win2000 sp4.
No progress so far.

In my case I am having this problem
with a dial-in connection. The errors are logged
every time the machine is being rebooted.
Also disabled NetBEUI.
