Reminders Dismissed on Mobile Phone Appear on Desktop

I have a Windows Mobile phone which synchronizes with our company's
Exchange server. Everything works fine except one minor nit that is
making me crazy. If a dismiss a reminder on my phone, it never pops up
again on my phone (as it should be). However, the reminder will pop up
on my Desktop. Sometimes it pops up for appointments over a week old.
I'll log in and it will pop up some appointment due 6 days ago. I can't
figure out what is causing this.

The change (dismissal) is not syncing back to the original item in the
mailbox.

I found out it's a known issue with Windows Mobile 6 and Exchange 2003.
