Reminder popups could come from any program. MSN Messenger 6 for example
will automatically open the MSN page when it starts. Microsoft Office has a
reminder program at startup. But, whatever it is, it starts when you turn
the computer on. You will have to find the program that is causing the
problem by looking in the Startup folder (Start>All Programs>Startup) and
checking the Startup tab in msconfig (Click Start>Run..., type 'msconfig'
without the quotes and press OK).

I had the same problem with a compaq presario. You don't mention if
you have a compaq or HP box, but if so, try the following:

1. Click Start, Run
2. Type MSCONFIG
3. Click OK
4. Click STARTUP tab
5. Click Disable All button
6. Click OK
7. Restart the system.
On restart you may get a window "System Configuration Utility", choose
"Don't show this message again" and click 'OK'.

8. Click Start, Search
9. Click Files and Folders
10. Search for HPSDPAPP.EXE
11. In the results found, delete the file listed in Program Files
folder
12. Close the search results window
13. Click Start, Run
14. Type MSCONFIG
15. Click OK
16. Click STARTUP tab
17. Click Enable All button
18. Click OK
19. Restart the system.
