In Windows ME, I was able to save my e-mail password so I didn't have to type
it each time I checked my e-mail. I now have Window XP and can't find a way
to save it. My e-mail program changed formats and the "remember password"
window doesn't come up.

If you use Outlook Express ,goto Tools-Accounts -choose the account
-Properties.

Now click on the "Servers" tab and then check "Remember password" just under
the place where you have written your passoword.

Apply.OK.

If you use another mail program ,I am afraid I can't help you and you'd
better contact the company that has made the software.

This has nothing to do with Windows Me vs. Windows XP, but has to do with
what E-mail program you used then and what program you're using now. Tell us
what program you're using and someone should be able to help you.

Thanks for your reply. I had the same e-mail program, Mediacom, both before
and now with XP. I contacted Mediacom when I was using ME and they told me
that I should be able to find the remember password item somewhere on my
computer. They said it wasn't a Mediacom "thing". Somehow I found it on ME
and was able to save the password. I just haven't to been able to find
anything on my new computer or XP to do the same thing.

Mediacom is your ISP (the company that provides your Internet service), not
your E-mail program. Although they may have provided you with an E-mail
program, it's highly unlikely that it's one special to them. It's almost
certainly one of the standard E-mail programs around. Please identify what
program it is, and let us know.
