rembering id and password

how do i get my pc to remember my id on certain websites,
i click the little icons that say remeber id or password
but that does not seem to work
 
Some websites will not allow you to do that... they say
it's for your own protection. I know some of my credit
cards work and some don't and none of my bank accounts
work. Do you have any idea if there is any way to edit that
data that it does store? I have data that I want to remove
but it only gives the option of deleting all the userids
and passwords. I want to remove about 4 only.
 
an example is yahho.com, i do not want to keep typing the
username and password, somehow it does not remember even
if i type remeber pasword.
