Help.
Parts of my XP-pro is gone, namely PCHealth so restore is
out of the question. I have my CD-Roms but I can not
reload them as with automatic updates the on-disk version
of XP is newer than the one on the CD-Rom.
How can I get my XP-Pro back to normal and functioning?
Restore won't run without PCHealth directory.
Other parts of XP also seem corrupted so I figure a reload
will solve my problems. Example my soundcard is fine and
working until something towards the end of the boot
process shares the interrupt or??? and my sound is
garbage. Changes I make during a session are ignored the
next time I boot as if something is taking over. Virus and
adware scans reveal no virus or infections.
So how am I going to fix this. Also on my CD-Rom's for XP
I kept the disk but my box and code is missing.
ACK!
