relative links get switched to absolute links when I apply a hyperlinkto a shape/image - FP 2002

When I try to add a link to an image or autoshape, Frontpage is
switching my relative link (e.g. ..\..\..\photo_of_the_day.htm) to an
absolute link (C:\Documents and Settings\Home office\My Documents\My
Webs\kids web\Philip\photo_of_the_day.htm). It happens whenever I save
the page on my computer, and obviously the link doesn't work when I
publish it to my web host. I have tried editing the html code, but it
still happens. I have no problem with hyperlinks on text.

any thoughts?
thanks

You need to open a Web Site not just a single page.

I am opening the whole website. I edit the site on my computer and then
use the publish function to place it on my web host site.

You have first imported the images into your current open FP web, before you insert them on your
page, correct?

Does the folder My Webs have a globe icon?

It happens when I create an autoshape or wordart and then try to attach
a hyperlink. I have no trouble with hyperlinks to images or to text.
Does the folder My Webs have a globe icon? yes
