Need some help on how to reinstall xp

Microsoft windows xp home
I have had a lot of trouble with a virus called
w32.swen.A@mm have downloaded two programs from norton and
microsoft scanned my drive with both of them have found no
virus
But I am getting some times more than TEN e-mails a day
that look as if they are from microsoft but are not.

Was told to look in the registar found seven w32.swenA@mm
deleted them big mistake since then cannot use disk clean
up it starts scanning then just freezes
Have tried system restore on 3 backs dates and they all
say that my systen has not changed.
Have got four disks in front of me and i do not know were
to start
1 disk compaq restore plus
2 disks restore supplemental software
1 disk compaq operating system cd

please some one give me some advice

Getting the emails does NOT mean that you have the virus. See the links
below for help with "disk cleanup" You should contact Compaq for support
with there restore cd's if you continue to have problems.

Try the following web sites:

the right-hand window, click on "Disk Cleanup - Compress Old Files Freezes"

Simply click on Kelly's fix, download the registry fix, then run it
