I originally had Windows ME on my system, then upgraded
to XP a year ago. I discarded my ME disk. I now need to
reinstall XP but the process tells me I need my ME disk.
Can I get around this?

Since you have a valid Me license, you can use any Win 9X/Me CD, borrow one.
If it was a retail version, contact Microsoft for a replacement if you still
have the Me CD key. [doubtful] 8-) If it was OEM contact the maker of the
system.
Contact MS.
