Reinstalling XP home.

I have 2 hard drives, the C drive is going bad, and I want to install my
Windows on my D drive, all I have is the Windows home upgrade CD, and when I
try and install windows it gives me an error saying I don't have a previous
windows installaion.

What do I need to get this problem fixed? I don't want to format the D
drive, just add Windows to it and make it my main drive.

You need proof of a qualifying product. You need a win98 or winME CD which
you insert when it asks for a qualifying product. (Win95 will work also)

Windows NT workstation 4.0 p; windows 2000 PRo will also qualify for the XP
profesional version
