I am going about doing a complete reformat and reinstall of Windows Xp Home
on my computer.
I have read that i will need to contact Microsoft and get them to revalidate
if I reinstall Windows.
Do i need to do this for what im doing? and if so How do i go about doing it?

You boot from the CD and do a clean install.
Click on or copy and paste the link below into your web browser address bar.

Since you are formatting, you will need to activate again.
It should be very easy as you will be prompted exactly what to do and when.
It will probably activate over the internet in a matter of seconds.
if internet activation fails, choose the option to activate over the phone.
Call the displayed number to Microsoft, normally done in about 5 minutes.

You don't need to do it over the phone if the connection fails. When windows
boots, it will prompt you to activate windows. Set up your Internet Settings
first. Then activate windows.
