You can if you BOOT with the CD instead of trying to do it in Windows.
Or if you slipstream/integrate SP2 into the CD.
If you want a clean install - the former is what you want to do.
If you are attempting something else (don't know what - really) - then you
want the latter.
And in reality - an SP2 updated Installation CD would be preferable either
way.
You could boot from a startup disk that has FDISK on it (get it free from
fdisk.com).
Drop the tables on your main boot drive.
reboot to the windows cd and it will go from there.
