I downloaded critical updates and now I cannot surf the web with AOL. After going through their tech support, it was found that my computer is not letting aol install their adaptors. My connection is okay, I can read my e-mail, but cannot view web sites. I have windows XP and a dsl connection. Their recommendation is that I reinstall all of the windows networking components. If I have my xp setup disk and call Microsofts 800 number, can they help me. I know that I do not have the expertise to try this on my own. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, how was it corrected. I am very afraid of losing everything I have on this computer. Help. Thank you

Go into CONTROL PANEL, go into ADD AND REMOVE SOFTWARE..
Look into the list of installed software and you will see
hotfix's listed... Remove them one at a time until you get
your connection back...This is only way I know to do this
without reinstalling...
