reinstalling Win XP Home

B

Brian

I want to wipe out my drive and do a clean install of win Xp home. What is
the best way to do this? Normally with Win98 I would boot off the CD and
format the hard drive, but with my XP CD it does not look as simple. I want
to make sure the disk is wiped out completely and I normally did that from
the good old DOS prompt, Fdisk and Format. I always reset my partitions to
make sure I got everything.

Here is my hard ware configuration:

2 Hard Drives

Hard drive 0 is F: (boot disk) the main/boot disk Win XP OS installed
Hard drive 1 is C: (not a boot disk) a drive for my backup files (I do have
new backups on it)

CDROM
OEM Win XP CD

I want to make sure I slick the main/boot disk and not the back up disk.

Both drives are formatted with NTFS and Windows XP (home)

Any advice appreciated. The backups were made with NTBackup. Protection of
backup files essential!
