Reinstalling SP2 after hardware changes

I have installed SP2 some weeks ago.

Now I changed some hardware components on my PC (graphic card, network
adapter) and made a chipset driver updates.
Shell I install again SP2 or will the XP-online-update check for the
appropriate new components.

On a second XP computer I have installed the old Office '97. Now it
seems to be instable: will a new installation of the SP2 replace damaged
file make more stable the system?

It is a possibility that you might have to reactivate, especially with key
components such as the chipset. If the activation wizard pops up again, you
use the 1-800 number that is available.

For Office 97, have you applied Service Release 2 for it? See links for more

I had just in my mind that old NT versions required to apply the service
pack again if any hardware changes had been done to the PC.

for the second issue, the system needs to be running good for the SP2
upgrade to work properly, so fix any issues there are before trying SP2.

Drivers like that should not need any further SP2 attention; indeed it
is better not to get driver updates from Windows Update - go to the
makers' sites
