Reinstalling Norton Antivirus

K

Ken Hall

I had to reinstall Norton Antivirus 2003. After this it reverted to
virus definitions from the disk -- two years old. My update period
had expired a few weeks ago, so I can't get the recent update I was
using before I had to reinstall. This recent version is good enough
for me for a few months. Anybody know how I can get it to use the
late version I was using before the reinstall?

That's a really dumb idea.

Pay up for a new subscription?

I'm always surprised by how many low IQ people manage to start their
computer and type in newsgroups, but as the years pass the number is
outstripping average-bright people.

Some versions of Norton can be fooled by simply kicking the system
clock/calendar back a few months/years to when their subscription was valid.
I know this works for NAV 2002; but not sure about your version.

btw, I would appreciate you not telling the group who helped you.

Thanks. I'd thought of trying that but, never having done that with
one of these modern complex XP type systems I didn't know what kind of
problems it could create. Do you know?
btw, I would appreciate you not telling the group who helped you.

Why's that?

Actuley I will now have my current connection for at the very least
another 6 months because, well it is none of your business how it was paid
for now is it. But as I have always known, those here that are so called
regs, have a heart the size of a sriveled up pea, and I regreat even saying
anything here. My SSD will keep a roof over our heads and food on the
table; but not much else; but I am content with such things as I have.
I don't need THINGS to make me happy, not unlike those here and else
wheres that do need things, that they THINK make them happy. You see I only
need my familys love, food, clothing and shelter, and my God will take care
of everything else. Just remember that those that have a lot in this world
have a porportinate amount less in the next and those that have less in this
world have a porportinate amount more in the next life.
I don't have that nagging hole in my gut like a lot of those here that
I could name but won't.

God bless everyone here, and I may return for a post or two; but more then
likely maybe not; because this ng and others are just not that important any
longer (*if indeed they ever were), I only cam here to try and help a few
and give a few laughs to others and also laugh in return at and with others
even at my self.

I would say that the recent version is *not* good enough for a few months.
New viruses and other malware come out almost daily. At least once a month
one comes out that gets deserved major press because of the problems it
creates.

Check around, there are inexpensive, even free, AV packages that are very
good alternatives to Norton. Some would say even better. And certainly
better than Norton with out-of-date definitions.

That you did, Dimbulb. That you did.
At least I did so internally, and I was laughing along with them;
because I can laugh at myself, expressly when that was what I intended from
the beginning. You on the other hand are laughed at not with, and you
can't laugh along with them; because you take your self to seriously.
I have always used this and a few other NG's for my entertainment, and
always give as good as I get. Even when some here thought that I was
offended I wasn't because in the final analysis "Sugien" is only a
character and NOT real, Sugien is not I, and I am not he and anyone that
can NOT tell the difference needs to get out from in front of their monitor
more often.

btw, put my pic on the first page of your <cough> rogues gallery and I
*might* consider allowing my pic on your page.

Oh good. Then you won't mind me making some "How fat is
Sugien's wife?" jokes...

Sugien's wife is so fat the National Weather Agency has to
assign names to her farts!

Sugien's wife is so fat that the last time she saw 90210 it was
on the scale!

Sugien's wife is so fat that she's once, twice, three times a
lady!

Sugien's wife is so fat even god couldn't lift her spirits!

Sugien's wife is so fat her blood type is Ragu!

Sugien's wife is so fat that when she hauls ass she has to make
two trips!

Sugien's wife is so fat that the shadow of her ass weighs 100
pounds!

Sugien's wife is so fat that when she was diagnosed with the
flesh eating disease the doctor gave her 13 years to live!
btw, put my pic on the first page of your <cough> rogues
gallery and I *might* consider allowing my pic on your page.

If you submit your pic to the gallery, it goes in the next
available slot. If you hurry, you'll go right next to Mr.
Wismer!

Actually, I'd love to put you next to Mr. FitzGerald, but then
he'd never speak to me, again! ;-)

Wait, I know! I'll move andi to Guillermito's spot, move
Guillermito to Art's spot and put YOU right in between
Guillermito and andi! Perfect! This way, they're both
"watching" you!

As for Art, I'll put him next to his <snicker> good buddy PaX,
and move the others over one to the right.

PERFECT!

So send in your pic, Dimbulb! (And no pics of your [purported]
18" schlong, either! We've already seen it!)

You silly twit, Sugien isn't even married, I think you have Sugien confused
with someone else. Sugien played along a while back when someone saw his
housekeeper on his web cam; but as I said he isn't married, after all who in
their right mind would marry Sugien? That brings me to my other point,
seeing as how Sugien was the first to show his face via his web cam that is
why I insist that either I go on the first page or not at all. Give up your
spot Laura! after all the creator of such a page should be on the last page
not the first; but then everyone always knew you have too much ego to do
that.
