ReInstalled XP

I had a computer crash and managed to reinstall Windows XP Pro and other
things that are needed on this particular computer. The only problem is that
when I reinstalled, it shows that there is 2 Windows XP Pro and I have to
chose the one I want to load. I know which one it is that needs to load.
Can I just go in and delete the os that I DON'T want to load? I'm am
absolutely sure that the correct one is loading because if it was the wrong
one, it would obviously crash again. I need the space, that's why I'm
asking. And yes, next time I will listen to my husband.

Thanks for any help.

you can edit the boot.ini file at the root of the c: drive it is a hidden
system file
should look like this

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

this will fix the menu but as far as space this will not clear up space only
fix the boot menu.

Would it be okay to delete the file folder for that os? I made it a hidden
file so the computer user can't see it.
