reinstalled window xp/troubleshooting

well i have spyware that i cannot remove and some of my
program seem to be acting up but i can't reinstall some
of the application software because it was preloaded and
so i decided to use the system recovery cd that came with
my computer? all went well except everytime Window XP
start it show the welcome screen then it automatically
load window xp and it doesn't show the username and
picture when window xp start . how do i fix this problem?
are there any fix/patch/setting i have to make?

please help i would appreciate it deeply?

First, be sure that you have visited Windows Update and installed EVERY
critical update offered there. This may require multiple visits to Windows
Update. Keep going back until no more critical updates are offered.

Go to control panel, user accounts.

Under Pick a task, choose Change the way users log on or off. Both items on
this screen should be checkedm then choose Apply options.

If those items were already checked, you may need to either add another user
(so there will be a choice at the welcome screen) or put a password on the
existing user--so that you'll get asked to put one in.
