Reinstallation installer rejection

I am trying to reinstall Access 2000 to correct a suspected program problem.
I can view the CD in Windows Explorer but when I click Setup.exe the Windows
Installer says "The installation source for this product is not available"
after the ding-dong suggesting the CD has been recognized and at least
partially read.

Does the current Windows Installer refuse to recognize Office 2000?

I don't believe so. It sounds like you have a damaged CD.

What was the suspected program problem that you were attempting to correct?

Thanks Tom,

The CD works properly on another older computer but not on either CD/DVD
drive on this one. So this question remains to be resolved.

However, the original problem has been resolved by creating a new empty
database and exporting the tables, etc., to it. That problem was a subform
that was creating an error message that the linkage could not be established.
Must have been a database corruption error.

I'm happy to hear that all is well for the present time. However, your
situation with the referenced error message prompted me to search the
Microsoft Knowledge base for a possible resolution. Here is an initial list
