Access 2000 Dings with every click!

I just installed Access 2000 on Vista machine. Every time I click on an item
in the database window it Dings! Turning off "Provide feedback with sound"
doesn't stop it. I don't find Access listed in the Sounds list on the
Control Panel. I do want sound for some things, like deleting an object, but
these constant dings every time I click are driving me crazy!

Where are the event-driven sounds listed and/or how can I get it to stop?

I've also got Access 2007 on the machine, and have no problem with it
dinging there. Access 2000 is properly referencing the version 9.0 DLLs,
etc. (directories: \Office\ vs. \OFFICE12\).

This may be of no consequence but Office components from 2003 install to a
version specific folder whilst earlier versions do not.
The MS advice when installing earlier Office components is to install the
earliest version first ( to a version specific folder in the case of pre
2003) then update, prior to installing later versions

Unfortunately, I don't have the option of reinstalling Office 2007. I've
been using it since February. This Access 2000 is just for a specific
client, and at least it appears to be functioning fine, save for the noise.

Victor, I don't have a solution for you, but I have noticed that Access 2000
(not 2003) does this ding-y thing. Quite annoying.

I never tried to trace it down, so we would love to hear from anyone who
has.

I remember in some previous version of Access or Windows that there was a
listing of each event and the ability to choose the sound. That's not in the
Vista's Sounds Control Panel option. I wish that were still available!

Not sure if this is what you are referring to, but in Vista's Control Panel,
under Sound, the 3rd tab of the dialog sets the sounds.

Yes, and Access isn't there. I thought I remembered seeing it there at one
time with a previous version and/or OS ver. Where does Access control it
now?

I don't ever recall Access being listed in the Windows Control Panel sounds.

Who knows... It may have been just a dream... I've been using Access since
2.0.
Anyway, the incessant dinging is still annoying and I wish I could turn it
off!
