I'm new to newsgroups, I hope someone can help me.

My computer has been very sluggish the last month or so, and I was thinking
of formatting the hard drive and doing a clean (re)install of Windows XP.

Here's my plan.
Backup Files and Documents on Secondary hard drive (and maybe on another
computer via wireless home network)

Right click on C drive in explorer and click format. obviously, I haven't
done this before - so any help would be great.

The XP CD I have is a full version and has been installed on this PC as an
upgrade AND as a clean install on a blank laptop. Are there any
restrictions installing the same CD that many times??

Thanks.

Formatting C from My Computer will not work if you are currently running
Windows from C.

Just leave C as it is (Backup all the stuff you need), then start from the
Windows XP CD, and choose to format the drive from the setup.

Yes, you can use the same CD as many times as you want! As long as you dont
install it on any other computers (unless you got a volume lisence). There
is no restrictions as to how many times you can reinstall.

Good luck, and i hope your computer speeds up!
