Reinstall XP

I heard that you can reinstall XP without losing all your data. I was told
not to choose the repair consol but choose the repair option after that. The
only repair option I get is for the recovery consol. Does anyone know how to
reinstall XP and still have all your programs and data in place?

If you have an OEM version of XP you can't do it. Only retail versions allow
a repair install.

As I said in a message to you in another thread yesterday, this
is not true. You can't do a repair installation with an OEM
restore CD, but not all OEM CDs are restore CDs. An OEM
installation CD *will* do a repair installation.
