Hello,

I recently bought 3 assembled computers from my distributor and I've
been having trouble with the internet. Everytime I go on, I also look
at the task manager and see that my CPU use is 100%. When I click to
go to a link, the computer locks up and goes to the page (very slowly)
after about 40 seconds. Obviously, something is not right.

So, my distributor recommended that I do a clean install of Windows XP
Pro. So, I start doing my 'clean install' and then I get to the part
where I have do delete the old partitions and create new ones. There
is only 1 parition there and it won't let me delete it. It tells me
that there are temporary files being used for the installation and so
the partition cannot be deleted. It's hard for me to do a search on
groups because the error message is in Italian. Also, the Windows
Italian site is inadequate. Can any one tell me how to delete that
partition and help me get on with my install?

Thanks,

Brendan

It sounds like you are trying to install from dos. Try
booting from the XP cd (you may have to change your boot
order in the bios to boot from cdrom first). Then follow
the prompts to install. This will let you delete the
partitions and recreate them.
