reinstall W2

I have a windows 2k computer which goes into an error with
outlook.exe on startup, and continues in a loop until it
goes into safe mode, at which time I cannot start any
programs without restarting the error loop.
I have backed up all the files I need from the computer
and want to reinstall windows 2000 (it won't let me do
that now.)
How do I wipe out EVERYTHING and start again with W2K?
Thanks!

Boot to the Windows CD and chose "R" for a Repair. This
takes you to a screen that gives you 2 choices, the
Recovery Console or a Repair Installation. Choose "C" for
Recovery Console. You should be prompted for the operating
system to boot to and the local administrator password. At
the Recovery Console prompt, run:
CHKDSK /F /R
See if that fixes you up. If not...
Boot to CD and choose to install Windows, then when it
says it found a previous installation, choose a repair
install.
If that doesn't fix you up, booting to the CD again. You
can choose to do a reinstall without loosing your data,
but it will over-write all previous Windows files. All
programs will need to be reinstalled.
Surely this will get you to a stable boot-up, unless your
problems are caused by dieing hardware.

Greetings --

Simply boot from the Win2K installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and/or format the system partition as
part of the installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the
order of boot devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)
