Regsvr32 quit working

Regsvr32 quit working right on 2 of my systems. I execute it and it never
gives a popup box like it used to. I can find it in TaskMgr and kill it but
it never works. None of my COM controls will register on the machine any
more. VS2005 builds fail to complete - they just hang. I have Windows XP
Pro SP2.

Any ideas about how to debug this problem??

Are you able to run REGEDIT ?
