Registry problem

Hi,

I am having difficulty deleting reference to a an old scanner.exe in
the Registry. At start, message " cannot find scanner" appears.
Help appreciated.
System Restore is not functioning properly.

Rephrase your problem. What has the registry got to do with can't find
scanner? What are you trying to accomplish?
 
Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Highlight HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. Click Edit, Find and enter "scanner.exe" without the quotes. Continue searching through the registry until all instances are found. When found, right click the value that's trying to load it and select Delete.
