Registry Map to Windows buttons...

Hi,

I found a few hundred entries of changeable registry settings. The
problem is often I have a greyed out button and have no idea of which
registry setting relates to this button. How does one figure out the
releationship between a windows button and the corresponding registry setting.

Thanks,
Jim

System policies are used to gray-out or hide certain features.
Rather than editing the registry keys directly, change the policies.

This should help you get started:
"Local Policies: Configuring User Rights"
<http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/prodtech/windows2000/w2kccadm/localpol/w2kadm12.mspx>

You might also check whether the userid is defined as a User, Power User,
Administrator etc. That has a great effect on which functions are
available.
