registry error

I recently installed a new cdrw into my computer. I am
running Windows XP Home Edition. I came across this
error: Windows cannot start this hardware device because
its configuration information (in the registry) is
incomplete or damaged. (Code 19). It is beyong my means
to fix this and appreciate any help.
