registry error

Hi,

My laptop just had some kind of error where it gave a blue screen with
some hard disk error. I restarted and now after a few seconds of
logging into my desktop, a message box pops up saying:

"One of the files containing the system's Registry had to be recovered
by use of a log or alternate copy. The recovery was successful."

There is just an ok button but the system just locks up after hitting
it (or even if I don't try dismissing the dialog).

If I start in safe mode with networking support this does not happen,
everything is ok. Any ideas what I can do to fix this? I just had the
hard drive replaced by circuit city a few weeks ago because the hard
drive supposedly melted inside the machine once already.

Excellent.

Thanks

that doesn;t sound right.... Restart in safe mode and do a restore from
there. Before you reboot, go to start > run > msconfig > startup tab >
disable all..... reboot to normal
