I have just reformatted my PC. I am using window XP Pro.(updated from ME)
I have this pop up saying my registry is corrupted and that I may lose

Well, that's not good.

Why did you reformat and reinstall? To get XP installed, did you reinstall
ME first? If yes, did the ME install seem to go well? Did you restart a few
times before starting the XP install?

What exactly is the popup saying? Is it coming from the operating system?
Or is it one of those ad windows from the browser or messenger service that
try to trick you?

When installing the original version of XP, you need to be *very* careful.
Make sure protection is in place before connecting to the internet.

A "registry corruption" popup is almost certain an advertisement to
entice you to go to some scumware site where you will either be ripped
off by purchasing some useless software or your computer will be
loaded up with spyware, or both.

What happens when you try to get the updates from Microsoft? If there
is any sort of an error message then please tell us what exactly that
error message says. There are a number of reasons why you could have
problems accsssing updates from Microsoft and we need detailed
information in order to identify what is causing your particular
problem.

Good luck
