Registry Cleaner for XP

I'm sure this has been asked and answered here, but I've been away from the
group for a very long time...

Is there a "best" freeware registry cleaner for XP?

TIA

Regseeker seems to work well and has a default option to back up keys
removed. The Excludes list took a while to figure out, although
instructions are clear.

Speaking of backups, everyone should have a secondary backup for XP,
so I'll take this opportunity to mention erunt.zip, freeware
(naturally). It's one thing to have a tidy registry and sometimes
something else to have one that works well.

Yeah I've used erunt as well--never needed it, but it was highly rated
at the freeware site I found it at (nonags, I believe). I have had
excellent success with RegScrupXP, made by lexunfreeware. Their old
URL is no longer working; I tried others, and I would notice my comp
doing little quirky things that it never did before; or i would notice
plenty of legitimate registry entries. But with RegScrupXP, I have had
neither problem. I will use this until I decide to upgrade from XP,
however far into teh future that point in time is. Highly
recommended.

Thanks to all of you for your recommendations. I will give them a try.
