How do I change the name the computer is registered to?
Currently it says in the system screen of control panel
that the computer is registered to: STUDENT, but I would
like to change that so that all my folders, etc. will
also change to a different name. How would I go about
doing that?

Greetings --

To fix the "Registered to" information for WinNT/2K/XP, you can use
Start > Run > Regedit.exe to edit:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\RegisteredOwner

and:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current
Version\RegisteredOrganization

Go>start\run and type in regedit and then click ok. Now
click the + signs beside the entries in the following
order. When you get to the last entry do not click the +
but instead click the entry to open it and it's sub keys
in the right pane. You will see registered owner and
registered organization in the right pane. Right click
them and then click modify and enter what you want and
click your way out.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows
NT\CurrentVersion.
Keep smiling.
