Register Windows Installer 4.00

I cannot register the Windows Installer 4,0 in my Windows Vista Ultimate. I
need to register that service because I cannot install nor office, nor many
programs of design that I need. Please, tell me something to doing it
because I am becoming crazy with W.Vista!
It already tries with Run - /regservice and /unreg and does not work Already
probe in initiating the service from Vista Windows and says to me that it
cannot find the route of the service, error 3 and error 1601. Thank you

Thanks for the answer but I use Windows Vista Ultimate 32b. The Link that
you happened to me already visits it and I did everything what they tell to
me. Nothing of this resolved my problem. I need an urgent solution because I
cannot install Office and many programs of Design. please, give me some
other idea

There is no easy fix that I know of, have you checked the KB below;

If that doses not help repost stating what you have looked at (KB,s, etc)and
tried otherwise you will only get repeat answers.
Maybe some one has a solution other that what you have tried.
Sorry could not help solve your problem.
Remember this a volunteer group not direct MS
